This can be achieved by either not making your content public or keeping pages in a draft state. However, if you intend to share the content exclusively with certain individuals, you can secure it with a password.<\/p>\n<p>If you are utilizing Webflow for hosting your site, you have the option to safeguard your entire site or specific pages within your site. Additionally, you can personalize the design of your password page that will be displayed when visitors attempt to access a password-protected page.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Crucial:<\/strong> The files you upload to Webflow are <em>not restricted<\/em>\u2014meaning they are publicly available and searchable, but they may not be crawled or indexed by search engines unless the file is on a publicly viewable webpage or linked from somewhere else. Password protection can prevent assets on your site from being discovered or indexed. This is beneficial if you want to protect pages with passwords for clients or a specific target audience (e.g., internal documentation, confidential client prototypes, etc.). Applying a folder-level password will override any preexisting passwords set on pages or folders within that folder. Subpages and folders will inherit the password from their parent folder.<\/p>\n<h3>Setting a password for a folder<\/h3>\n<p>To establish a password for a folder in the Designer, activate <strong>Password protection<\/strong> in the Folder settings. Input the unique password that will be enforced on all pages within that folder. This allows you to hide pages of a Collection that are still in the development phase.<\/p>\n<h3>Setting a password for a Collection template page<\/h3>\n<p>To password-protect Collection pages:<\/p>\n<ol role=\"list\">\n<li>Access the <strong>Pages panel<\/strong> in the <strong>Designer<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click on the settings \u201c<strong>cog<\/strong>\u201d next to the Collection template page for the Collection where you wish to set a password<\/li>\n<li>Toggle \u201c<strong>on<\/strong>\u201d <strong>Password protection<\/strong> in the <strong>General section<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Create a unique password<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Publish your site<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Securing your entire website with a password<\/h2>\n<p>You can regulate access to a site under construction by requiring a password for all its domains. This is handy when you want to publish your site for testing or private demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p>Website password protection is accessible on all sites with a paid <a href=\"https:\/\/webflow.com\/pricing#site-plans\">site plan<\/a> (Basic, CMS, Business, and Ecommerce). Furthermore, website password protection is available on all sites (free and paid) in a Workspace with a paid <a href=\"https:\/\/webflow.com\/pricing#workspace-plans\">Workspace plan<\/a> (Core, Growth, and Enterprise).<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Note:<\/strong> Website password protection is not applicable for free, non-hosted sites in a complimentary Workspace.<\/h6>\n<h3>Setting a password for your entire site<\/h3>\n<p>To enable a site-wide password for your entire site:<\/p>\n<ol role=\"list\">\n<li>Proceed to <strong>Site settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>General tab<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Website password<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Switch Password protection to \u201c<strong>on<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Create a unique password<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Set password<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Publish your site<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Crucial:<\/strong> Activating a site-wide password will supersede passwords set on pages or folders within that site. They must input the password you created before accessing the password-protected page.<\/paragraph><heading-3>Get to the password page<\/heading-3><paragraph>You can personalize the appearance of your password page in the Designer. You are free to alter or erase all the default elements on your password page, except for the input form and submit button, which are unremovable.
