Workspace schemes enable you to distribute design and editing capabilities among members of your Workspace to enhance collaboration efficiency. Occasionally, you might find the need to cooperate with individuals external to your Workspace, such as customers or shop proprietors. By utilizing a CMS, Commercial, or Ecommerce site scheme, you have the option to ask content managers to team up on site content (e.g., text, hyperlinks, visuals, merchandise, and CMS content) or modify page configurations in the Webflow Editor.
If you are subscribed to a Core, Growth, or Enterprise plan, all Workspace members can utilize the Editor on any website within the Workspace. For collaborating with individuals not part of your Workspace, you can include them as content managers on your site.
Upon adding a CMS site plan or Standard Ecommerce site plan to a site within the Workspace, you can invite a maximum of 3 content managers to that site.
With a Business site plan or Ecommerce Plus or Advanced site plan added to a site within the Workspace, you can invite up to 10 content managers to that site. Additional content managers can be included in any Business site plan or Ecommerce Plus or Advanced site plan for $6 per month, per individual.
Note: Localization functionalities are solely accessible in the Designer. Content managers can localize content in edit mode.

Strategies for including a content manager on a site
Notable details: Site deployment is mandatory prior to inviting content managers.
You have the option to incorporate content managers on a site directly from the Designer interface or via the Site settings > Site access section.
To integrate a content manager from the Designer:
- Tap on the “share” symbol in the upper toolbar
- Select Invite content managers – this will lead you to Site settings > Site access section
- Click Add content manager
- Enter the content manager’s email address in the email field
- In case of being on a Growth Workspace, pick the content manager’s role from the dropdown (e.g., Can modify or Can modify & publish)
- Press Dispatch invite
To add a content manager via your Site settings:
- Navigate to Site settings > Site access section > Content managers
- Click Add content manager
- Insert the content manager’s email address in the email field
- If you are on a Growth Workspace, choose the content manager’s role from the dropdown (e.g., Can modify or Can modify & publish)
- Click Invite
If you have assigned the Can modify role to the content manager, copy the content manager invite link from the subsequent modal window and forward it to your content manager. In cases where you have assigned the Can modify & publish role to the content manager, the said individual would need to acknowledge the invitation through the link provided in the confirmation email.
Essential: If you have activated whitelabeling on your site (i.e., replaced the Webflow logo in the Editor), your content managers will not receive an email invitation from Webflow. Instead, you will have to furnish them with a direct link to modify your site. Delve deeper into whitelabeling and Editor branding.
You also have the option to tailor content manager publishing permissions provided you hold a Growth, Agency, or Enterprise Workspace.
Step-by-step method for crafting a content manager account
Post clicking on the invitation link within the confirmation email, the concerned content manager must create a content manager account that involves setting up a username and password. This account will be employed for accessing your site as a content manager. Note that content manager accounts remain distinct from any other Webflow account(s) owned by your content manager(s). Site owners are not authorized to fabricate content manager accounts.
Note: Passwords should encompass a minimum of 10 characters with at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, and 1 numeral.
Content managers can traverse to the Editor by appending “?edit” to the conclusion of the site’s URL (e.g., www.your-site.com/?edit). Subsequently, they can sign in and access the Editor by clicking Edit site.
Procedure for resetting a content manager password
Content managers possess the capability to reinstate their password by unfolding the Editor (i.e., append “?edit” towards the termination of the site’s URL (e.g., www.your-site.com/?edit) and adhering to this progression:
- Click Forgot it? on the Editor’s login page
- Enter your email address in the Email address field
- Click Send reset email
- Inspect your email for a “Reset your password” email
- Abide by the guidelines in the email to transform your password
Permissions for publishing assigned to content managers
Note: Limiting content manager publishing is solely feasible for sites within Growth, Agency, and Enterprise Workspaces.
Every content manager possesses the Can modify role, and complete-site publishing permissions can be adjusted via the Can publish toggle.
