Creator Acknowledgments

Tag site contributors in Creator Credits.

Website owners have the ability to designate agencies, independent contractors, and any other website contributors in a website’s Creator Acknowledgments. Subsequently, creators can present the website as Made in Webflow and on their designer or Specialist profile — even if the website is not located in their own Workspace.

Through Creator Acknowledgments, independent contractors and agencies who transfer a website to their clients — or construct a website directly in their client’s Workspace — still have the option to highlight the website on their personal or Workspace profile and on Made in Webflow. A maximum of 3 contributors can be included in a website’s Creator Acknowledgments. In Creator Acknowledgments, you have the ability to tag:

  • An individual’s personal creator profile
  • A Workspace designer profile

Contributors can exhibit a website even if the website owner opts not to do so. Moreover, all Made in Webflow page specifics for that website (e.g., the website’s description, thumbnail, tags) are exclusively only applicable to that website. Hence, if a website contributor and the website owner showcase the same website, their Made in Webflow pages for that website are distinct from each other.

Please note: If a contributor is included in the Creator Acknowledgments on a site in someone else’s Workspace, that site does not impact the contributor’s own Workspace’s unhosted site limits.
Please note: You are not required to have any Site or Workspace plan to tag someone in a website’s Creator Acknowledgments. However, a paid plan (whether a Site plan or Workspace plan) is necessary to present a website on Made in Webflow.

In this tutorial, you will discover:

  1. The process of adding a contributor to Creator Acknowledgments
  2. The method of removing a contributor from Creator Acknowledgments

How to include a contributor in Creator Acknowledgments

As an independent contractor, agency, or website contributor, you can request the website owner to tag you in the Creator Acknowledgments — or, if you are a guest in your client’s Workspace, you can tag yourself.

To add a contributor to a website’s Creator Acknowledgments, you will require their profile handle. This handle can be found in their Specialist or creator profile URL and starts with “@”. For instance, if an individual’s creator profile URL is “webflow.com/@starlightagency”, their handle would be “@starlightagency”.

To add a contributor to a website’s Creator Acknowledgments:

  1. Navigate to Site settings > General tab > Showcase site
  2. Enter the contributor’s profile handle in the Creator Acknowledgments field
  3. Click Save changes

The contributor will receive an email notification informing them that they have been added to the website’s Creator Acknowledgments. Subsequently, they can showcase that website on Made in Webflow. Website contributors are only able to present the website to the specific profile that you have tagged in the Creator Acknowledgments.

Please note: When a contributor presents a site where they are tagged in Creator Acknowledgments, the displayed site is directly connected to the live site. Any upcoming alterations to the website will be automatically reflected on the presented site. Should a website contributor prefer that future changes to the site do not impact the displayed site, we recommend duplicating the original site into their Workspace and then presenting that site copy.

How to exclude a contributor from Creator Acknowledgments

By removing a contributor from a website’s Creator Acknowledgments, they will no longer have the ability to present the website on Made in Webflow or include the site on their public profile.

If they have already presented the website on Made in Webflow or added it to their public profile, it will be automatically eliminated. In such instances, all metadata (likes, clones, and views) associated with that website will be retained and will reappear if the contributor is reintroduced to the website’s Creator Acknowledgments at a later time.

To exclude a contributor from a website’s Creator Acknowledgments:

  1. Go to Site settings > General tab > Showcase site
  2. Click the “X” next to the contributor’s profile handle in the Creator Acknowledgments field
  3. Click Remove Creator Acknowledgment
