How to append, modify, erase, and resolve opinions
To append an opinion:
- Click the “opinion” icon in the top toolbar to access Opinion mode
- Click the element on the canvas where you wish to append an opinion
- Enter your message in the input field
- Click Post or press Command + Return on Mac (or Control + Return on Windows) to distribute your opinion
You can alternate between breakpoints to leave opinions on a specific breakpoint.
Reminder: Opinions left on Collection pages will display on each occurrence of that page. For example, if you append an opinion on a “Blog post” Collection page, your opinion will display on the page for every blog post item in that Collection.
To alter or delete your opinion, hover over your opinion, click the “three disclosure dots” icon and choose Edit or Delete. You can resolve opinion threads by clicking the “checkmark” icon on the opinion thread.
You can also unresolve and reopen opinion threads from the Opinions panel when the Show resolved filter is activated. Click the opinion in the Opinions panel to unveil the thread on the canvas, then click the “circled checkmark” icon on the opinion thread.
Reminder: If you shift an element with opinions to another section of the canvas, the opinions will move along with it.
How to reference Workspace members or guests in opinions
You can @mention members or guests of your Workspace to incorporate them in opinion threads and direct their focus to a precise part of your site design. They will receive an email notification containing the site name and the page where your opinion was positioned, along with a link to unveil your opinion in the Designer.
To @mention a member of your Workspace, add a fresh opinion, type “@” in the input field, and select their name from the dropdown that appears. You can type their name after the “@” to refine the results and utilize the Up and Down arrows and Return key to navigate the results and choose their name.
How to inspect and sift through opinions
While in Opinion mode, opinions are visible on the canvas and in the Opinions panel. You can tap on opinions in the Opinions panel to expand and observe their threads. You can also expand and view threads on the canvas by clicking the “speech bubble” icon. Unread opinions are highlighted with a blue dot next to the opinion timestamp.
Reminder: Opinions are not displayed in real time (e.g., don’t update automatically). You will need to refresh your site to notice new opinions.
You can also filter opinions in the Opinions panel to glimpse opinions solely on the current site page and/or to incorporate resolved opinions.
To filter opinions, click the “three disclosure dots” icon and select Only on this page and/or Show resolved. Resolved opinions are marked with a checkmark in the Opinions panel.
You can unresolve and reopen opinion threads when the Show resolved filter is turned on. Click the opinion in the Opinions panel to reveal the thread on the canvas, then click the “circled checkmark” icon on the opinion thread.
How to configure opinion email notifications
You can select which opinions you get email notifications for (e.g., all opinions or replies only) or deactivate email notifications for opinions entirely. To manage your opinion email notifications, head to the Opinions panel and click the “three disclosure dots” icon. From there, you can select All opinions, Replies & mentions only, or None.
Reminder: You will not receive notifications for any opinions you post unless you @mention yourself, irrespective of your email notification settings.
