Synchronize items to Facebook Catalog Manager

Generate a product data feed and sync products to Facebook Catalog Manager.

Connecting your store’s product collection to Facebook’s Catalog Manager [↗] enables you to maintain product details, images, stock availability, and more in harmony while running promotions and content on Facebook and Instagram.

Topics covered in this tutorial
  1. Generate a product data feed for inventory synchronization with Facebook
  2. Link the data feed to your Facebook product inventory
  3. Utilize your product feed for advertising purposes

Create a data feed for inventory synchronization with Facebook

To enable the Facebook integration in your e-commerce settings, obtain the URL of the data feed, then save and close the integration settings. The URL can be located in the Designer or the Editor, within your Ecommerce settings.

‍In the Designer: Settings →  Ecommerce → Integrations → Facebook

Key point to remember:
If you forget to save your settings in Webflow, the data feed will not synchronize products on Facebook.

Link the data feed to your Facebook product inventory

If you do not have a Facebook product catalog yet, set up a product catalog in Facebook Business Manager. During the catalog creation, you will be prompted regarding adding products. Opt for the “Upload product info” choice.

Helpful resources
  • Establish a Facebook Business Manager for Catalogs [↗]
  • Building a Facebook Catalog [↗]

Incorporate a new data source

After creating your catalog, navigate to the “Product Data Sources” area and click on “Add Data Source.” Select the “Use Data Feeds” option to import items.

Insert your data feed URL

On the subsequent screen, choose “set a schedule” and insert the data feed URL that was initially copied from your Webflow Ecommerce settings. Then, set a synchronization frequency that determines when Facebook checks Webflow for updated product information. Await the upload completion, and review your items.

Essential to know:
Sometimes, incomplete product information may lead to failed imports. For additional information on import errors, refer to the “Diagnostics” section.

Utilize your product feed for advertising

Follow Facebook’s guidelines to craft “Dynamic ads” for existing viewership and/or promotions to attract new audiences. Additionally, you can link this product catalog with your Instagram Business profile to tag products in posts and be showcased in the shopping segment of Instagram.

Helpful resources
  • Create a Facebook dynamic ad [↗]
  • Implement shopping on Instagram with Facebook Catalogs [↗]

Key point to remember:
Since the data feed does not include product inventory, it is not viable to establish a Facebook shop as the inventory is crucial for its functionality.
